I have been making a living with a brush in my hand for thirty years. Large sets for theatre or private houses to schools,places of worship and fundraisers, all brings the creative into being. A challenge to communicate precisely a vision we experience collectively. A gift to serve.
I believe that contempary art has isolated itself, that the vast majority of people would rather be wowed by excelence than bored by incompetance.The problem is not only about subject matter or the lack of, but also the inability to execute proficently.The 'wow' factor requires it.
Young people are under the asumption that their scribbles mean something when they have not yet learnt to draw. Musicians must learn keys and scales, Writers and poets must know how to spell. Artists must know how to draw well . Actors have to convince us completely
Ecosymbolism is a conceptual guideline for fine art. My wife , Ana Bikic , and I have understood the crisis that modern art has imposed upon itself. That irrelivance to others brings contempt and confusion. Self-indulengce is boring. Self expression has responsibilities.
